History of the Company:
1970: Government of India realises the vital importance of Hydraulics and invites entrepreneurs to apply for setting up enterprises.
1971: Mr. M Parthasarathy & Mr. C P Rangachar(CPR) get a Letter of Intent from the government to set up a company to make Hydraulic Equipment.
1971: First Correspondence with Yuken Kogyo Company Ltd, Japan (YKC)
1972: First meeting with Mr. Shoji Yuki and Mr. Y Takahashi in India
1974: First visit to YKC, Japan. Mr. K A Chary and CPR make business plan. Mr. M Varadarajan and CPR sign first agreement with YKC.
1976: Mr. K. Gopalkrishna and Mr. T. R. Prasanna sent for 6 months training to YKC.
1976: Yuken India Limited (YIL) incorporated; Collaboration agreement between YKC and YIL signed.
1977: Mr. S. Takenaka, Mr. Y. Kokuban and Mr. H. Tomita come to YIL to start manufacturing activity.
1978: Commercial production starts—Solenoid valves, Pumps, Pressure controls, Flow controls etc.
1979: Supplied first Power Unit to HMT for K 130
1986: Took over a foundry and started Foundry Division.
1990: Public Issue of YIL –oversubscribed 40 times. YIL listed in Stock Exchange.
1991: Sai India comes into existence for manufacturing of radial piston motors.
1993: Coretec comes into existence for manufacturing of iron cores.
2000: Launch of Gemba Kaizen and TPM activities.
2001: Yuflow comes into existence for manufacture of Industrial cylinders.
2005: Gear Pumps Division of YIL is incorporated at Hyderabad.
